Ok I’m not gonna lie, at first these shoes fit snugly and I debated sending them back for a different size. However, I thought they were cute so I didn’t give up on them so quickly. I have a heel spur and typically wear sneakers with an orthopedic insert OR Vionic anything. I HAVE had a single pair of Vionic shoes that I didn’t love but that’s on another review, back to these babies. So I put on some thicker socks and walked around my apartment a while. I did this for a few days because, and I cannot stress this enough, these shoes are SOOOOOOOOOOO cute! After a few days I tried them on with those no-slip socks (which always slip on me, I don’t care what brand they are) and, yes, the socks slipped down off of my heel but the shoes felt amazing!!! I walk a lot! When I go into the city and wear casual/cute attire these are hands down my go to shoes!!! Just writing this makes me think I’m gonna buy a second pair for the day when I wear this pair out.. anyway, I recommend them! If you have a wider foot (I do) maybe try the wide width, I can’t remember of it’s an option in this style but also (depending on how wide your foot is) it might not be necessary if you try my sock trick.. love these shoes!The shoe is very nice and was comfortable immediately. The color is definitely a taupe, but in some lights the color looks grey (goes with everything). Be aware they are on the shiny side even though they are suede. I am happy with the look. Upon receiving them, I was disappointed that they were packaged in a mailer type envelope and the box inside was completely crushed. The shoes did not look worn, but all of the “stuffing” was out of them as if someone had tried them on and shoved everything back in the box. Not up to Amazon standards at all!! The shoe fit as I had hoped and I do love the color.I listened to other reviews and got a half size smaller. So I usually wear 6.5 with sockless shoes so I ordered a 6 because of the reviews. I don't know if I would recommend that to others. It's verging on tooooo small but I have been burned too many times at getting shoes too loose where my heel kicks out so I don't want to return these. These at a 6 hug my narrow feet well so if you have wide feet, be aware you may want to return these. I can NOT wear socks with these shoes or they would be too tight. I bought this for my mostly sedentary cubicle job. I would have bought this at my normal 6.5 if I planned on walking a lot with them.Upon opening this shoe box, I instantly fell in love with the vibrant black and velvet-like material.BUT I wore these on a 5 hours drive to SD in LA traffic then to walk around SD. Within the first hour of walking the back of my feet were killing me. The shoe in the back is incredibly hard and thick and painfully rubbed on the back of my foot. It didn't cause a blister but the worst soreness I have ever experienced from a shoe. These shoes are really heavy and clunky.I might have been able to go down a whole shoe size. I went down 1/2 size, but i have skinny flat feet. My shoes came off slightly as I walk. The shoe is roomy on the inside.Luckily I packed a spare pair of shoes.UpdateI have worn these again with thick ankle socks, which to me defeats the purpose. I look really tacky, but it creates some padding and allows the show to fit better. These still aren't my go to shoe.Update 10/29/20I have finally worn in my shoes enough that I can wote these without socks without pain in back. However, because they are wide and roomy my feet flop around inside the shoe. These looks so good still though. The color has held up nicely. Look new. I just wish they were narrower.I am mildly upset with amazon or vionic. Not sure who...I ordered these vionic shoes for less than $60 but they were a little big. So I ordered 1/2 size smaller. When I received the smaller size, I noticed they had a stain on the front of the shoe as if someone had worn them, spilled something on them, and returned them. In addition, the second pair cost me an additional $20. Why amazon? I am deciding whether to return them AGAIN to get perfect pair for my extra $20.I ordered a pair of Vionic slippers as well as these at the same time. I ordered a 1/2 size down in both after reading the reviews that the shoe ran big. The slippers fit perfectly. However, this shoe, for the most part fit well in the toe and heal but it was much to narrow. I'm unsure how I would order next time since the slippers fit well and these didn't. I really loved this shoe style overall. I am hopefully over time they will break in and fit more comfortably.I love the look of these and the arch support is perfect for my flat feet. Unfortunately, when I wear them, I tend to get a blister on my heel. They are slightly too big or perhaps the heel section is too wide. I can't really figure it out. Nonetheless, they look so good on and the quality is great so I'll figure out a way to make them work!Super comfortable and supportive... BUT everything you read in other reviews about them rubbing your heel until it bleeds is true. Every time I wear these I’ve resorted to putting large bandaids on the back of my heel. It works, but it’s not very convenient! Hoping the heel of the shoe softens to the point of not cutting sometime soon!
