The waist is a little smaller and the length a little longer than I expected, but I'm also short and pear shaped - 5"4 and 130 lbs. A medium would have perhaps been nice for my waist but not length. That said, the skirt is beautiful and I'm sure I can easily adjust the length. I got A LOT of compliments. You just need a nice fitted top for it.
